The unseen photographs

A treasure trove of First World War photographs was discovered recently in France. Published here for the first time, they show British soldiers on their way to the Somme. But who took them? And who were these Tommies marching off to die?

Four unidentified youths one of which is wearing half military ensemble which has a Canadian military insignia on one of the buttons.

NEWSPAPER NEEDS HELP

The British newspaper The Independent is hoping to identify the people in 240 First World War photographs that were found recently.

If you had family friends or relatives who fought in that war, perhaps you might recognize someone from your own family photographs.
